Consultations

Vaccinating your pet is a way of protecting them against nasty diseases that can lead to serious illness. We strongly recommend that your pet receives their core vaccinations every 12 months to ensure that they are protected against such diseases. We also offer the Rabies Vaccination (required for international travel) and the Kennel Cough Vaccination (required for dogs going into kennels).

Fleas, ticks and worms are different types of parasites that can lead to several problems for your pets, including itching and diarrhoea. We recommend keeping up to date with flea, tick and worming treatment to prevent these problems from arising and to ensure the happiness and wellbeing of your pet. Parasite Treatment

Some animals require long-term medication as a way of managing a health condition. Our veterinary surgeons are able to prescribe and administer a wide range of different drugs to treat a large number of conditions and illnesses. Any long-term medication is reviewed at regular intervals to ensure that the choice of treatment and dosage is still well-suited to the needs of your pet.

Prescription Medication

A microchip is a tiny electronic device that we implant under the skin and is a means of identifying your pet in the event that they go missing. As the owner, your contact details are registered alongside the microchip's unique identification number, which can be read using a special handheld scanner. This means that you can be contacted by authorities if your pet has been found after going missing. It is a legal requirement for dogs in the UK to be microchipped.

Microchipping

Neutering brings several health and welfare benefits for your pet, including the prevention of unwanted litters and the elimination of the risk of certain cancers and pyometra. The time at which we deem it suitable to neuter your pet will be determined by their age, weight and species — please get in touch if you would like to discuss this in further detail.

Neutering

Dental disease in pets is a common problem that can be extremely painful and is not necessarily easy to spot, unless examined by a veterinary surgeon. It is for this reason that we recommend keeping on top of your pet's dental health and undergoing regular checkups. In certain cases, the vet may recommend in-house treatment, ranging from a scale and polish to extractions of painful teeth.

Dental Treatment

In certain cases, the veterinary surgeon may deem it necessary to send off a biological specemin (e.g blood) to a laboratory for further tests, as a way of helping them come to a diagnosis. Different types of tests include health profiles, biochemistry, histology, cytology and allergy testing, amongst several others.

Laboratory Analysis

X-ray and ultrasound scanning are non-invasive diagnostic imaging techniques that allow the vet to visualise internal anatomical structures. An ultrasound scan can be used to image soft tissue (e.g heart, bladder etc) whilst x-rays are typically used to diagnose bone fractures, although can be used for soft tissue imaging in some cases.
